RIOT IN OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY
The regularisation policy is aimed at making students confirm their studentship by presenting documents and receipt of payment of relevant fees for verification by the University.
The tudents of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State who participated in the protest wants the University to give their colleagues whom have not complied more time to carry out the regularisation. The Harmattan Semester Examination of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU has now been postponed for the third time now.

Veteran actor, Zach Orji, has been on the corridor of evangelism in the past two years. He was proclaimed an evangelist by the President of Christian Central Chapel international (CCCI) Bishop Emma Isong,. Husband Beat Wife For Refusing To Teach Him How To Use Facebook
A Gweru man recently went berserk, bashed his wife and even threatened to stab her with a knife after she reportedly refused to teach him how to open and use a Facebook accounthe man, Benjamin Chanyau of 1242 Mkoba Village 18, appeared before Gweru magistrate Ms Sithandekile Ncube facing charges of domestic violence. He was found guilty of assaulting his wife, Ms Fadzai Muchavhaira and fined US$200 or in default one month imprisonment.
The State’s case as presented by Mr Bonwell Balamanja is that on 21 February, the complainant, Ms Muchavhaira was taught how to open and operate a Facebook account by her brother at the couple’s house in Mkoba Village 18 in the presence of the accused.
After the departure of Ms Muchavhaira’s brother, Chanyau asked his beloved wife to open her Facebook account and teach him how to operate the social network website. Chanyau also demanded to see what his wife was posting on her Facebook account alleging that Facebook was bad for married couples.
The wife refused to comply leading to a misunderstanding between the two. Chinyau got furious and kicked the complainant in the stomach once with a booted foot. He reportedly went on the threaten to stab his wife with a knife is she failed to show him what was on her Facebook wall and teach him how to use Facebook.
The complainant reported the matter to the police leading to the wife-basher’s arrest.

A MAN JAILED 7YEAR IMPRISIONMENT FOR KIDNAPPING A 11 MONTH OLD BABY
An Ogun State High Court sitting in Isabo has sentenced Akinsoji Goyea,36, to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine for kidnapping 11 months old baby in Abeokuta. A Police Officer, Abiodun Olurebi, told the court that the matter was reported to him on August 24, 2010 which prompted the arrest of the suspect.
He said his investigation had shown that the suspect stole the baby belonging to Mr and Mrs Moshood Lawal of 4, Ajegunle Street, Mile 2 area, Rounder, Abeokuta.
Olurebi said further that the suspect willingly admitted guilt of stealing the baby who was later suffocated to death in the course of the kidnapping. “He claimed to have taken the baby away in his arm before putting him in a sack through the window while his parents were in the sitting room.
“He also admitted that the baby died due to suffocation when he was taking him to Lagos to sell to a standby buyer.
“Goyea also said in his statement that he took the remains of the baby to one Baba Vero in Ikoyi, who told him he needed blood of a baby for ritual purpose.
“He told us that he took the baby to Baba Vero in an uncompleted building in Ikoyi area of Lagos and that he was only paid N40,000 of the N300,000 agreed upon, “ the police told the court.
The Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs Omolori Osinbajo, who called other witnesses, including parents of the victim, tendered series of evidences and the statement made by the suspects to the court.
The presiding judge Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje in the matter said “ the accused person is hereby found guilty as charged. “You are accordingly sentenced to seven years jail term with hard labour and without an option of fine.“
Chinua Achebe is dead
Achebe, one of the best fiction writers in recent memory, died in his USA base, according to information just reaching News Express.
He was 82, having been born on November 16, 1930, and had been in hospital in recent days.
Achebe is best known for his classical novel Things fall Apart. His last book, There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra, is still making waves.

Chief Capo is an international model, rapper, singer and the CEO of G-Muzik Entertainment. He shuttles between his home in Atlanta and the one here in Nigeria.
Capo and Tonto have been dating quietly off and on since 2010 after he relocated to Nigeria that year to set up his music business. His mum is South African and his dad is Igbo.

2 HEADED BABY WITH NO EYES BORN IN KASTINA
A baby girl with what appears to be two heads has been delivered at the General Hospital, Malumfashi, Katsina State.
The baby has also has a cleft palate and stunted fingers. The 19-year-old Zainabu Dahiru gave birth to the baby with no eyes on Sunday night.
The baby’s father, Malam Dahiru Umar, at his residence at Unguwar-Sodangi in Malumfashi on Tuesday that the baby was born through normal delivery.
Umar, a 25-year-old petty trader, said the baby was their first and his wife attended regular ante-natal care during pregnancy.
He said he burst into tears on sighting the babyand sympathetic hospital workers told him that they could not offer any medical assistance beside the delivery.
He said the workers informed him that his wife was in stable condition and referred the baby to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, near, Zaria.
Umar appealed to government, wealthy individuals and non governmental organisation’s for support.
Meanwhile, effort to speak with Medical Director of the General Hospital failed.
However, a paediatrician, Dr Ahmad Bala, who spoke to NAN, said the baby needed maximum medical examination to ascertain the nature of the abnormalities.
Bala said the medical examination would include physical checks, X-ray and other diagnosis that would equipped a physician to speak properly on the matter at hand and possible remedies.
NAN report that the new born baby and her mother were still at home.
When shown the photograph of the baby, a gynaecologist at the Garki Hospital, Abuja, Dr Kayode Obende, said the condition was called encephacele.
According to Wikipedia, the free encycopaedia, encephalocele is a neural tube defect characterised by sac-like protrusions of the brain and the membranes that cover it through openings in the skull. These defects are caused by failure of the neural tube to close completely during fetal development.
Encephaloceles cause a groove down the middle of the skull, or between the forehead and nose, or on the back side of the skull.

Encephaloceles occur rarely, at a rate of one per 5,000 live births worldwide.

The condition can occur in families with a family history of spina bifida.
Although the exact cause is unknown, encephaloceles are caused by failure of the neural tube to close completely during foetal development. Research has indicated that teratogens (substances known to cause birth defects), trypan blue (a stain used to colour dead tissues or cells blue), and arsenic may damage the developing foetus and cause encephaloceles.
Proper levels of folic acid have been shown to help prevent such defects when taken before pregnancy, and early in pregnancy. It is recommended that women who may become pregnant take 400 micrograms of folic acid daily.

THREE GIRLS BEATEN TO COMA FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING PANTIES -
Angry market women yesterday beat three female undergraduates to coma at the popular Asaba Ogbegonogo market, in Delta State for allegedly stealing various pants at the boutique line.
Eyewitness said that the suspects were caught with the pants after they had pretended to be customers and paid for two different ones selected from the hangers.
It was gathered that the suspects’ who are undergraduates of the state owned university were said to be regular visitors to the market.
But the trust the traders have in them as regular customers evaporated when one of them, a 200 level mass communication student (names withheld) sought to be accompanied to where they could buy good pants and the suspects paid for two packets of mixed coloured pants and in the process allegedly removed three other packets alongside the ones they bought. Luck however ran out on them as the trader suddenly noticed the removal of some packets from where they were displayed.
They were said to have been beaten severely by the angry market women who raced to the scene of the incident. Police authorities at the ‘A’ Division Asaba confirmed the incident.

Eye witnesses said a black van drove and stopped right in front of Tonto Dikeh and three gun men emerged and whisked her away.A Police near by that saw the kidnap went down, watched and took no actions but laughed. After the kidnappers drove off, they left a note on the road and the police picked it up and it reads:
“Dear Nigerians, we are doing you a huge favor, we have taken this drastic action to save the little we have in this country. We got an information that Miss Tonto is about to release a new song by March 1st titled “Jeje” and we can’t look and fold our arms. Miss Tonto would be released for five thousand Naira after March 1st”.

Niger Delta University Student Killed During Cult Initiation
The Bayelsa State police command yesterday announced the killing of a 200- level student of petro chemical engineering of Niger Delta University, Ammassoma, Mr. Tariebi Tyger, during a forceful initiation exercise by some unidentified cult group.The student unfortunately died during the so called initiation.

In response to protest issued out by students of the Nasarawa State University due to lack of water and other basic human needs Soldiers were deployed to calm the protest, instead of calming down the situation of things, they decided to shoot at the students, which led to 6 students death. The question is who gave the order? We all know and see how foreign soldiers calm protest by standing in front of the protesters with their shields and helmet but you don't see the use of guns.Not only did they shoot @ students but also gave them an ultimatum of 5hrs to leave the vicinity of the school premises, even those who stay off campuses.
As a result of this ultimatum, the students were scared and ran for their innocent lives, which led to the death of another 9 students who were involved in a fatal accident along Maraba-Nyanya express way.I detest the Nigerian military men with passion, just because you're a uniform man doesn't give you the ordersity to shoot @ your fellow citizens. For every soldier involved in this, they should all be called upon to face the wrath of the law.The innocent students must not die in vain.
